Hiromi Ando has been playing piano for over 30 years. She learned piano from private piano teachers in Yokohama, Japan and later continued her musical education at Santa Monica College where she studied piano and performed at a Master Class there. She is familiar with the Baroque period works such as by Johann Sebastian Bach, as well as the Classical Period works such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig Van Beethoven. She has studied the Romantic period works such as by Franz Schubert, Felix Mendelssohn and Frederic Chopin.
Hiromo has taught for over 5 years and has worked with students of all ages from a beginner to advanced level in Piano teaching. She is passionate and committed to teaching and is very patient and encourages her students to do their best.
Her enthusiasm for music extends to being a member of many choir groups where she sang masterworks such as Bach’s B-Minor Mass, Mozart’s Requiem, and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, among others. She also loves playing recorders with a recorder ensemble with whom she performed at Festivals and Senior Centers.
